Matthew 2:10,11

We serve an incredible God! God has given you and I the wonderful gift of life. Even with all of its challenges, life is meant to be enjoyed. God has blessed each of us with grace, mercy, understanding, prosperity, and favor, even though we don’t deserve it. When we sinned and let God down, He gave His very best gift, Jesus Christ. The Christmas story is all about the fact that God came in the person of Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. There is nothing usual or common about the birth of Jesus, he was God’s son born of a virgin, announced by angels, born in a stable in a rude building where the beast are sheltered. The lesson we learn from this is that God blesses humility.

To some, the Christmas season means long lines, searching for the perfect gift, Christmas carols, lights and Christmas trees. But let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas that God gave His very best to offer life, deliverance and salvation to all human kind. The greatest gesture of thanks we could offer to God as believers is a life of obedience, gratitude and to be givers-of our time, talents, gifts, abilities, and in fact our very lives.

Matthew 2:10,11 reminds us that Christmas is a festive time, a time to rejoice and be joyful. Jesus, the savior of the world was born! So lets remember to celebrate the birth of our savior, as the gift of Jesus Christ is no small matter, in fact it changed our lives in the most positive of ways. Thank God for Jesus Christ! Wise men came and worshiped him, as they brought very valuable gifts to lie before our King.

Jesus has given so much to you; he deserves only the best gifts from you because of your love for him. The measure of love is in how much it gives. Jesus is the King, and savior of the world and as such he deserves your very best.  Merry Christmas to each and every one of you, and May you enjoy the wonderful gift of Jesus Christ. Remember, true Christians are givers.

For the Kingdom,

Pastor Reggie C. Witherspoon Sr.
